Besides a really friendly attitude, Jeff adapts to your fishing skills. He offers advice and techniques to fit you, along with lots of positive comments. Plus, he can probably take the best picture of you and your fish ever!

Jeff is very personable and I regarded him as a friend immediately following our first meeting. His two-handed casting acumen is above question. He is soft spoken and I have to say very patient. My casting was very mediocre, but with very informative instruction, constructive critique and follow-on demonstrations, I made steady improvement. Demonstration and instruction not only included casting, but also mending, getting the appropriate swing, and reading the water. Added bonuses were Jeff's anecdotes and knowledge of local history and wildlife and they made the trip complete. I can't forget to mention that Jeff is an accomplished oarsman and my drift through steelhead heaven was enjoyed to the utmost.
Very sincerely,

Last summer I had the pleasure of fishing the Deschutes River with Jeff Mishler. As this was my first experience spey fishing for steelhead, I was extremely nervous and anxious on the days leading to my trip. Within 30 minutes of meeting Jeff, I was immediately at ease. He was very approachable, not trying to impress us his knowledge or past successes, but rather shared his advice and experiences with us. Throughout the day he was very supportive and enthusiastic in our pursuit of steelhead. He has extensive local knowledge and definitely put us on the fish! In between floats we had ample opportunity to take in the surrounding scenery which was breath taking. Jeff is certainly one of the most patient and finest instructors I've had the opportunity to work with and highly recommend him to any level spey fisherman. He took great care in instructing me on how to improve my spey casting techniques and in just one day improved my abilities beyond my dreams! We had a great time with Jeff and he sure knows how to treat his clients. All-in-all it was an incredible two days!!
